colts baby!

December 30, 2008

I had a maternity session last night, and it was a lot of fun.  Their little girl is due in just under a month, and you can just tell how much they are anticipating her arrival.  I can’t wait for the phone call after her birth so I can hold a super squishy newborn!  It’s one of the best parts of my job!

Just one for now, guys.  I’ll post another tonight, but wanted to get one up for you to see now.   And sorry, Steve…just #29 for now.  That’s the best one, right?

Edited to add: Okay, so I had more time than I thought before my next session!  Here’s another for you…I loved catching you guys in a genuine laugh.  You were such a fun, bubbly couple.

The spirit of giving

December 10, 2008

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $1120 worth, to be exact.  They will receive a session, my digital package of full resolution files, and a custom designed storyboard.  All because you cared enough to nominate them.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $250 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in the central Indiana area, and be able to travel to my home studio in Fishers.  Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : k.hibbetts@sbcglobal.net

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Please, pass this message along to as many people as you know.   Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love and many Christmas wishes,

Kristi

P.S. This is part of a national program I am proud to be participating in called “Giving is Awesome”, started by Kristen Kalp.  If you have someone you would love to nominate but they are not in my area, please visit Kristen’s blog for a list of photographers particpating worldwide! http://www.essentialimagery.com/blog/

sneak peek of christmas

December 3, 2008

I had a newborn session this morning, and it really put me into the Christmas spirit.  Nicole, your home was SO beautifully decorated for the season that I told Keith that we HAD to get our tree down TODAY, because I want my house decorated now!  It didn’t hurt either that your house just had that bustling that only a newborn can bring – that feeling of excitement and exhaustion.   What a blessing it is that your sweet little Will came just in time for Thanksgiving, and now for Christmas!

Happy 1st Birthday, Emma!

December 2, 2008

Emma came in today for her 1 year session, and man, is she cute.  I mean, she was adorable when I did her session at 6 weeks, but now she just has so much personality, and she was really a model client.  As in she loved to model for me!   She would stop and pose just perfectly….it was precious.  Her birthday is tomorrow…man, this year has FLOWN!
