sneak peek of L.

August 28, 2008

Finally! Sorry E., I didn’t get these sneak peeks up before we went out of town mid-week, but I wanted to get them up first thing tonight!

L. had her 2nd session of her baby plan and was such a little doll baby again! She has THE most striking blue eyes…I swear, I didn’t retouch the color ONE. BIT. Can you even believe it? She sat up like such a little lady too. Adorable! And don’t even get me started on her pink outfit with the bows. So cute I almost couldn’t even stand it!

sneak peek of L. & M.

August 20, 2008

L. & M. came in this morning for a session.  I’ve known their mom for a couple of years now, but we had never met (she lives in Minnesota)…until today!  They were in southern Indiana to visit family, and had scheduled to come up for a session during their stay.  Never have I seen a baby with a head of hair like little L.  It was just incredible!  And he was just the happiest baby.  M. was a lot of fun too, your typical (almost) three year old, but such a smarty!  Maggie had a lot of fun playing with M. while L. was busy with the camera.

It was so nice to meet you guys today!  I feel honored that you’d come all this way so I could take your pictures!

she’s all baby

Seriously. M. is a tiny lady, and with her beautiful pregnant bump she looked like she was straight out of a page of Fit Pregnancy magazine! I suppose it helps that she works as a personal trainer, right?  I had a lot of fun with this session, and got to play around with some things I’ve wanted to try. Thanks for being so open to ideas, guys!  I love it when my clients allow me to just play!

So here are your sneak peeks – I can’t wait to meet your little Bella!

sneak peek of….speedbump?

August 16, 2008

Today’s maternity session was with C. & K., and they were SUCH fun people. They brought their first baby….their little dog named Speed Bump. And he was SUCH a good dog! I’m not normally a dog photographer; I grew up with cats, and have only cats. But I love a little happy dog, and Speed Bump gave me my fix today.

Little K. is expected at the beginning of October, and I can’t wait to do her newborn session! Just like any girl needs, her nursery is pink (and green) so matching her mommy’s green shirt with my hot pink backdrop was a logical choice. It gives just enough of a color pop to stand out.  Plus I just love it when my maternity clients bring something fun & funky to wear!

sneak peek of C.

C. came in for her 3rd session of her baby plan today. This is such a fun (and challenging) age! C. is so petite she fit into a 0-3 month onesie that I used for one of the outfits! She’s just the tiniest little cute button of a baby. P.S. The pink outfit was her mommys when SHE was a baby! I love it when clients bring heirloom clothing!

philosophy

August 12, 2008

Okay, so some back story here….I promise, this actually IS related to my photography. I blast (and I mean blast – think shaking the windows) this song on my way to every session I do. I listen to the song when I’m waiting for clients to come. Why? Some people need pep talks to warm up, some people do jumping jacks…me, I listen to Ben Folds sing this song. No matter how long I’m in this business, no matter how many times I get the chance to photograph someone’s child, or get to be there at their maternity session and then continue on for a year, I still put so much of myself into every photo session. I work hard, get sweaty, and push myself to the limits every time…and listening to that song helps remind me that it’s worth it.
I’m building my skyscraper. Just you watch.

sneak peek of G.

August 11, 2008

Another sweet baby G. this week!  This little peanut is already a month old, but still teeny because he decided to make his grand entrance before everyone was ready for him!  Sounds like he is going to be keeping his family on their toes for a while.  He was super sweet, didn’t even cry ONCE in our 2 hour session….and didn’t pee either!  How’s that for cooperation?

G.’s daddy loves football, so we had to do a football pose.  What a sweetie!

P.S. I love hairy newborn backs *giggles!*   Maggie still has the most hairy neck and I think it’s just adorable.
