Archive for February, 2008

I did it! I finally invested in the new camera that I’ve been drooling over for almost a year. I needed a backup just in case and decided to upgrade and make my other camera my backup. I’m so glad I did, I’m in love already! My family, on the other hand, isn’t as impressed.

I hope they come around.

baby planner

February 22, 2008

This is G., who is signed up for my baby plan. This is from his 9 month session…we started his baby plan at 6 months, and will continue to 15 months. In case you weren’t aware, that IS an option if you’re interested in a baby plan! I get a lot of clients who contact me when their child is 6 months for a baby plan, worried that they have missed their chance, but that’s not the case! We can begin your ‘baby plan’ at any time, 4 months, 6 months, whenever. The baby plan is essentially 4 sessions, spaced out evenly, with a discount for booking it as a plan.

G. has already changed so much, just from his 6 month pictures, which you can see here!  http://khibbettsportraits.com/blog/?p=101

I can’t wait to do his next baby plan session…his birthday session!

K. has THE best skin. It’s so creamy & caramel colored. These images are from Friday, when she was just a little over 2 weeks old. I find it such a privilege that I can share a part in the lives of the families that I photograph. Those first few weeks when you’ve brought your baby home are just so intense, intimate, and personal. Allowing me to come into your home, to welcome me with all my equipment to capture those first fleeting days and weeks, it’s just an honor for me. Thanks J. & K. for letting me share this special time with you!

welcome piper!

February 11, 2008

I may have been out of contact for the last couple of days, but I have a very good reason! Our good friends H. & P. welcomed their beautiful daughter into the world this weekend! Her name is Piper and she’s already nestled her way into my family’s heart. I was lucky enough to be there when she was born, and got to snuggle her before she was even 2 hours old. Talk about baby fever!  My husband K. & I got to visit with them yesterday, and the family is going great, and big brother D. (almost 3 yrs old) was giving her kisses and sang Happy Birthday.  It was SO sweet!

Congratulations guys!!

isn’t she lovely?

This little long awaited miracle was a fiesty one!  I caught a quiet moment while she was swaddled, though.  E.’s parents went through a lot to bring her into the world, but man, was she worth it or what?  She is a sweet baby, even if she did have a temper!  Must be that red hair she gets from her mommy.

Here’s C. who is just 3 months old.  Doesn’t she have the best smile?  I don’t remember my own daughter smiling that big at that age…maybe I wasn’t as funny looking then.

I can’t wait to show you the rest, Julie!

Little L. is just 6 days old, and apparently doesn’t know that newborns sleep a lot.  During our almost 3.5 hour session, she only slept for about 30 seconds.  Total!  I’ve never seen a newborn that alert.  She wasn’t fussy, wasn’t crying….just would not sleep!  But that’s okay, because that just let me get lots of pictures of her with her beautiful bright eyes shining.

Not in this one, though…
